Mickey Dunn, President and CEO of ML Industries (MLI) announced on Tuesday December 15th that MLI has acquired two Hanesbrands
Mexico manufacturing plants for an undisclosed amount of cash. The plants are located in Francisco Madero and San Pedro, which is just outside of
Torreon in the state of Coahuila.
The two plants are approximately 25 minutes from each other. The acquisition of these two state of the art buildings boosts MLI’s Mexican manufacturing space to over 400,000 square feet. Dunn stated that this acquisition was imperative for long term strategic growth as its current plants are “bursting at the seams.”
Since May 1 of this year MLI has added over 800 new jobs in three different industries with growth projected at 25% for 2010. “We had looked at adding additional square footage to our current facility but at the end of the day the acquisition of the two Hanes buildings was much more attractive. This acquisition will allow us to continue to diversify product mix and allow us to attract new customers in these state of the art facilities.”
MLI is a 19 year old privately held company and a leading manufacturer in automotive safety; automotive seating; seating inserts; apparel decoration; and marine and wind energy.
